# Polis on Water

### How are we using Polis this time?

Polis will open Monday 19th October and run for one month until Thursday 19th November 2026.

The Love & Rage Community Assembly which took place on Sat 12th September in London, discussed the question:

**“How might we restore our failing water systems to secure a long-term future for all people, life and habitats?”**

The three outcomes from each breakout group are added to Polis as 'seed' statements. These act as a starting point for an extended conversation with potentially thousands of participants. Participants are asked to vote on statements and to add their own ideas for others to vote on. Polis filters the ideas so that the most popular or most devisive, show up more and then finds common ground. The outcomes from Polis can be used by everyone to support campaigning.

#### Moderators
If ideas are exactly the same or very similar, moderators will de-duplicate these so that participants don't see the same idea repeated.

Moderators work together in a supportive team to help get the best experience for participants. The role is easy to do and there's plenty of guidance, including support sessions to learn how to moderate. The role does need time committment of a approx. 1 hour every couple of days.
