Movement Assembly #1

The Plan

Your Say On:

'What should we discuss in the first XR UK Movement Assembly?'
  • Week 1 - Submit your ideas for assembly topics via Polis.
  • Week 2 - Vote on everyone's ideas.
  • Results of the most popular topic will be published on the Rebel Toolkit .
  • Based on these results, the UK Assemblies team will involve relevant teams to co-create the question for our first Movement Assembly.
  • We will all then deliberate on that question at this first movement assembly.

If you find any of these processes confusing or overwhelming, need adaptations, a buddy or have other access needs, please do contact wellbeing@extinctionrebellion.uk or contact 07773 193704

For tech issues visit the twice weekly drop-in.

Week One

Sat 28 June 09:00 - Fri 4 July 12:00 (Noon)

Thank You to Everyone Who Shared Your Ideas!!!

Over 600 ideas have been gathered from almost 480 people throughout the week.

Duplicated ideas for topics were edited out by Moderators to minimise overwhelm and frustration of participants. However, the breadth of issues people want to discuss means everyone will see many possible ideas to vote on. See Moderation info

Week Two

Sat 5 July 09:00 - Fri 11 July 12:00 (Midday)

Participants

Everyone can vote on the topics that were submitted in the first week.

Some duplications have been merged and some sentences rephrased to statements leaving 470 ideas to vote on!! You do not need to vote on every idea. Polis works its magic even if you only vote on 20 ideas.

You have the week to dip in and out, if you wish to take part a little at each time. If you use the same device to access Polis, it will automatically save your votes for when you come back. Then, new ideas will display for you to carry on voting.

Polis will display comments randomly for each person, so not everyone may see the same ideas.

Remember: You can answer; Agree, Disagree or Pass / Unsure. Your contributions to Polis are anonymous.

You can read the Guide: Polis for Participants, so you understand the process followed so far and to make the most out of taking part in the next stage of deciding the topic for our first Movement Assembly by voting on everyone's submissions.

Week Three

Assembly Organisers
  • Polis will automatically prioritise our most popular ideas for topics. The most popular will be our first 'Movement Assembly', chosen by everyone taking part!
  • UK Assemblies [the Assembly Organisers on this occasion] will support, coordinate and publicise this assembly.
  • Results will be shared on the Rebel Toolkit and publicised on the Rebellion Broadcast.
