New volunteers who apply for a role via Reach are more unlikely to know much, if anything, about XR.

When replying to their application on Reach, it's a good idea to send them 2 links. One to the 10 Principles & Values and the second for the XRUK Website and ask them to read through the Learn More/About page.

This will help both with identifying if someone is in agreement with what XR does and if they feel XR is for them. It will also speed up your onboarding process!

Here's a template email with the relevant links for copy/pasting:

Hi [NAME],

Thank you for apply for the role of [ROLE NAME] with Extinction Rebellion (XR) [GROUP NAME].

Your CV and application look great and we're really looking forward to getting to know you more.

Please could you have a look at the two links below where you'll be able to read a little more about XR and get to know about our 10 Principles & Values (P&Vs). After this, get back in touch if you'd like to continue with your application, and we will then arrange a time to meet for a chat about next steps.

XRUK's Website- select 'Learn More' or 'About'.

XR's 10 Principles & Values.

Thank you again for stepping up to help. Time is XR's most valuable resource and we're very grateful to you for offering yours.

Look forward to hearing from you all soon and, if you decide to join us which I very much hope you do, working with you in the future.
