Zoom Sessions - Team Meetings, Study Sessions and How to Register

This section describes the various Zoom sessions,Sessions, how to register for them and what to do if you cannot attend.

Students on the Light Course should note that they will ONLY be doing the Study Sessions called Welcome to Extinction Rebellion and Nonviolent Direct Action. However, if any of the other studyStudy sessionsSessions appeal to you, you are welcome to register and attend.

The Team Meetings
During your Course, there are four opportunities to get together with the Team and your fellow students. These Team meetingsMeetings are a great way to get to share information about how you are getting on, ask questions and find support:

  • The Meet & Greet Evening is attended by members of the Foundation Programme Team and some of your Trainers. We explain how to use the Schedule & Checklist for anyone who is not familiar with technology, and the Trainers outline their sessions.

  • The two Mid Point Check-ins (one daytime and one evening on separate dates) are very informal opportunities to chat with your fellow students, discuss how you are progressing with the coursecCurse and complete simple questionnaires so we can continually assess the effectiveness and accessibility of the Foundation Programme. The forms are done online, on the spot, and will be kept anonymous, insofar as we, the Team, do not know who makes which comments.

  • The Next Steps Evening, apart from celebrating your success in working through the course, is where you have the chance to hear from some XRUK team representatives about roles they are keen to fill using our students.

Registering for Team Meetings and Study Sessions

Students are asked to register in advance for theall live Zoom study trainings:Sessions:

Please note that some registration pages offer more than one date for a training,Session, e.g. WelcomeIntroduction to ExtinctionMeetings Rebellionmight runslist everytwo week,or three dates, so do make sure you register for the correct one, or it might clash with another of your trainings.Sessions.

  • Once registered, you will receive an email with the link to click to join the meeting.Session. These do get lost amongst other emails, and the headingsheaders are not always helpful, so we suggest you forward them to yourself with a really clear heading eg 28TH4TH JUNEJULY JOIN INTROWELCOME TO MEETINGS.XR.
